Where Dirty Hands Meet Big Hearts

Right here in the heart of Ruapehu, we believe the best way to build community is to get stuck in together. Whether it's transforming neglected spaces into thriving community gardens, running creative workshops for our rangatahi, or fixing things that deserve a second life, we're all about rolling up our sleeves.

Grubby Hands Trust started with a simple idea: what if we stopped waiting for change and started making it ourselves? Now, we're a growing whānau of volunteers, dreamers, and doers who reckon that a bit of dirt under your fingernails is a badge of honour.

How We Get Our Hands Dirty

Community Gardens

Transforming bare patches into green havens where locals can grow kai, connect with nature, and share the harvest. Our gardens are more than just veggies—they're gathering places for our community.
